The Golf Model was ordered from VW Major Agents Jack Barclay European, York Road, Battersea, London, in a rare Inari Silver pre-ordered special order and was first registered in June 1981. The current owner, Gareth Allcock from Essex, was given it as a gift at 40. Birthday from his mother, Pat Allcock, in 2011. Gareth wanted to have Golf Mk1 GTI, but initially didn't realize how rare Inari Silver is. He bought it from a private owner in Haverhill knowing he was in poor condition, and immediately proceed with his renovation by doing numerous jobs but maintaining their factory specifications. Unfortunately, four years later, his situation changed and was forced to sell it. It was purchased by Wayne Thomas from Wales who commissioned the car modification to VW specialists, Crazy Quiff Mk1 Golf Parts Emporium based in Oxfordshire. They retained their standard appearance, but they took apart and repainted the engine compartment, performed various body repairs, and then mounted a 2 litre 16V Golf Mk3 GTI 2 litre engine as well as larger brakes, threaded suspension, polylumens and many other modifications to handle the power increase. In 2019, Wayne decided to sell the car and advertise it. Gareth noticed the announcement, he immediately recognized the car he regreted selling and was glad to have repurchased this optimal car but for the sum of money than he had sold.
